Information technology plays a vital role in achieving the competitive advantages of the educational systems. Thus, the researcher noticed that it would be appropriate to study these two important topics, based on the importance of education in the process of development by identifying his position towards it. Consequently, this study attepts to bridge this gap by answering the following main question: "What is the role of information technology in achieving the competitive advantages of the educational system in the State of Quait?" to answer this question, the descriptive analytic method was used. The study revealed that information is considered an influential and effective force that controls the different aspects of life including the educational institutions since information permeates all educational processes and activities. Information technology is the artery that feeds all parts of the educational system with this information; thus, enabling the officials and employees to take effective decisions. At the end of the study, a number of the necessary requirements for the dissemination of information technology to achieve the competitive advantages of the Quaitieducational system. In addition, some recommendations were made, the most salient of which are the necesity of setting an appropriate strategy for the management of knowledge and information technology within the faramework of the general strategy of the educational system in addition to following- up its implementationa and assessment in a way that achieves tha mission of the university and its aims.
