The Impact of Benchmarking on Achieving the Institutional Excellence in the Governmental secondary schools in Taif City

The study aimed to know the extent of practicing the benchmarking in the governmental secondary schools in Taif city its stages including (the readiness, the planning. The application, and the following up). Attracting the attention of the teachers and determining the degree of the availability for the dimensions of the institutional excellence including the leadership. the knowledgeand the humantype). The governmental secondary schools in Taif city attracts the attention of its teachers. the study also aims to show if there is a linkage relation of statistical significance between the independent variable of the study (benchmarking) and the dependent variable of the study (the institutional excellence) the governmental secondary schools in Taif city and showing the extent of the benchmarking impact in achieving the institutional excellence in the governmental secondary schools in Taif city. To achievetheaims of the study, the researcher usedthe analytical descriptive method, he used the questionnaire form that were distributed among sample of (339) teachers in Taif city. The results of the study showed that the benchmarking is practiced in the governmental secondary schools in Taif city with a middle degree in general. with the mathematical average of (2.86) for all the dimensions – the ranking of the dimensions appeared on the following (readiness,:planning, following up and application) the study also showed that the institutional excellence dimensions in the governmental secondary schools in Taif city are available with an average degree of (2.83) for all the dimensions the ranking of the dimensions appeared on the following form: the leadership. The study also showed that there is an active linkage relation of statistical significance between the benchmarking and the institutional excellence. and that there is an active impact of statistical significance on the institutional excellence. finally the study submitted asset of recommendations. they are: encouraging the leaders of the school to care for measuring their schools performance from time to time (periodically) and allowing them more administrative authority to apply the best administrative ways for measuring the performance and for choosing (the suitable reference model). The study also recommended to establish especial department in each educational department to supervise the benchmarking process).
